Robinson to assume new role Aug. 26
Donald Robinson has been named the new executive administrator of Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Transportation Services. Robinson most recently served as deputy director of Codes and Regulations for Louisville Metro. He replaces Randy Frantz, who was appointed assistant executive director of TARC last month.
“There is nothing more important to us at JCPS than the safety of our students, and this role is critical in ensuring nearly 70,000 students arrive to school and back home again safely each and every day,” Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio said. “I’m excited to have Donald join our district and I’m confident his background in logistics and his leadership experience will be a tremendous asset for JCPS.”
“I am thrilled to have someone of the caliber and experience of Donald Robinson to lead the JCPS transportation team,” said Dr. Michael Raisor, JCPS chief operations officer. “His public service, operation and logistics background, and strong record of positive employee relations will only help to strengthen the success of an already strong department.”
Robinson has worked for Louisville Metro government for the last eight years, serving in leadership of three different departments, including Codes and Regulations, Develop Louisville and Louisville Metro Animal Services. Prior to that, he had nearly 20 years of leadership experience in managing fleet operations, labor relations and other operational functions in the private sector.
“I’m excited to continue my public service work with JCPS and join such a student-focused and employee-driven team,” Robinson said. “I’m looking forward to connecting with the professionals in JCPS Transportation to build on its accomplishments and help this department become even more effective and productive.”
Robinson is a graduate of Grambling State University and a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
He begins his new role on Aug. 26.
