This team is responsible for the district's network architecture, both physical and virtual. They manage the "highways" that data travels on, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity across all district campuses and administrative buildings.
High-Availability Connectivity: Maintaining robust bandwidth, routing, and switching capabilities to handle massive, concurrent daily traffic.
Data Center Operations: Managing the physical servers, storage arrays, and virtualization environments that host enterprise applications.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Designing redundant systems and backup protocols to ensure minimal downtime in the event of hardware failures or power outages.
2. Application Development & Integration
Rather than using disconnected, off-the-shelf software, this team ensures that the district's various internal systems talk to one another and builds custom solutions to solve unique operational challenges.
API & Data Integrations: Building secure pipelines to sync data between HR systems, finance platforms, student rosters, and third-party vendors.
Custom Enterprise Tools: Developing and maintaining proprietary internal applications, databases, and dashboards that streamline administrative workflows.
Database Administration (DBA): Ensuring the integrity, optimization, and availability of massive district databases.
3. Enterprise Cybersecurity & Data Safeguarding
Operating at every layer of the infrastructure, this team proactively defends the district's digital perimeter, safeguards sensitive student/staff data, and ensures regulatory compliance.
Threat Detection & Incident Response: Utilizing advanced monitoring tools to detect, isolate, and mitigate potential network intrusions or malware in real-time.
Data Privacy & Compliance: Ensuring all systems and data-handling practices strictly adhere to federal and state regulations, such as FERPA and COPPA.
Network Perimeter Defense: Managing firewalls, secure web gateways, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) protocols to block unauthorized access.
