Centurion Families:

Good Morning and welcome back! I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving first and foremost. Remember this is a short week, school is only in session Monday and Tuesday. Once we return from the holiday students will take the fall MAP test. It is very important that our students are ready mentally for the test and have fully charged chromebooks. Detailed information about MAP testing is below. I want to give a special shout out to all the cast and crew of The Lion King Jr. It was an amazing show, all the students and Ms. Gibson did a fantastic job!

ATHLETICS CALENDAR: Please see the athletics calendar for the week here.

NON TRADITIONAL INSTRUCTION: In the event of bad weather we will move to Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) days instead of a traditional snow day. Please see the JCTMS Short Term NTI Plan. Please review the plan and all the links which includes a schedule for the day and a list of staff email addresses. Please contact the school if you have any questions.

Winter MAP testing Dates: JCTMS students will be completing MAP Reading on December 2nd. MAP Math will be tested on December 3rd. It is important that students get a good night’s rest and have a healthy breakfast during the testing windows. Please remind students to fully charge their Chromebook each night to be prepared for the test. Please talk to your student about their MAP testing goals and the strategies they will use to reach those goals. All MAP testing will be completed by December 19th.

JCPS is using MAP Reading scores to identify students who are struggling with Reading. Any student who scores below the 30% percentile in Reading will be required to complete Capti testing for Reading. This test will identify strengths and weaknesses in foundational Reading skills. Test results will be shared with students and families.

Dress Down Reward for students identified as High Growth and High Achievement: After Fall MAP testing students were given dress down passes for scoring their personal best for Math and/or Reading. We will be issuing Dress Down passes for those who were identified as High Growth /High Achievement for Fall Math and/or Fall Reading. Students who earned a pass for Reading will be allowed to dress down on Tuesday December 2nd. Students who earned a pass for Math will be allowed to dress down on Wednesday December 3rd. If the student is absent or forgets, they lose the opportunity to dress down. Dress Down Guidelines Good luck now let's show the district and the state just what we know!

Nurse Health Consent Form: Please see the nurse consent form. This form must be complete for students to be seen and receive treatment from our school nurse, Ms. Stivers.
