Dear JCTMS families,
I am writing to you today to address an incident that occurred at school earlier this afternoon. A rumor began to circulate among students that caused some concern and disruption throughout the school day.
Please be assured that our administrative team immediately became aware of the situation and followed all established school protocols. We thoroughly investigated the rumor, speaking with students and staff to gather all available information. Our investigation concluded the rumor was entirely false and there was no credible threat or issue.
The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. We take all reports of concern seriously and act swiftly to ensure a secure and supportive learning environment for everyone.
This incident also serves as an important reminder about the impact of spreading unverified information. Rumors, even when unintentional, can create unnecessary fear, anxiety, and confusion for our students and staff. We encourage all members of our school community to always consider the source and validity of information before sharing it, and to report any concerns directly to school administration so we can address them appropriately.

Join us for our school's Open House tomorrow, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM! It’s a great chance to see what our students do every day and explore our classrooms. We can't wait to see you there!

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS | We had another great community forum Tuesday night at Jeffersontown High School! Thank you to everyone who has joined these events to hear from Dr. Brian Yearwood. The superintendent has enjoyed listening, learning, and getting to know you.

Our next Community Conversation is on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Academy @ Shawnee.

Any athlete with a U will be ineligible to play until the next grade check on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Coaches will be notified of ineligible players. Parents and students can check grades in Infinite Campus regularly.

🛫Mr. Masden's 8th-grade math class is taking learning to new heights! What better way to learn than with paper airplanes on a beautiful day? This is a great example of how he makes math fun and engaging.

📖Students in Mrs. Crowe's 8th-grade yearbook class are participating in a gallery walk to analyze photos. They are learning key compositional terms to better understand and describe the images they'll use in the yearbook.📸
