Dear Middletown Families:
The 2025 Comprehensive School Survey is open. The survey’s purpose is to collect school climate data from multiple stakeholders about our school system.
The window this year will be January 13 – February 28, 2025.
Let’s show all of JCPS how amazing Middletown families are and get our response rate to 100%.

1/13/25 (Monday): Our instructional day will begin at 11:40 AM. If your child is a car rider or walker, we will open exit door 2 at 10:40 AM. Students will have the option of breakfast, and we will serve lunch.
The school dismisses on time at 4:20 PM. There is a lot of snow. Please practice patience as we navigate around it in our car rider lines. Safety will be our top priority.
Chromebooks will go home tomorrow. They need to be returned daily to school.
We are excited to greet our Bulldogs back after Winter Break. See you soon!
DELAYED START| All JCPS schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, January 13, 2025. Early Childhood classes are canceled for the day. All after school athletic events and extracurricular activities remain as scheduled. There is no change to dismissal times.
The delay is due to the condition of some side roads and sidewalks throughout the county. A delayed start will allow students to be at bus stops and walking to school in the daylight.
We anticipate some bus delays due to side road conditions. We appreciate your patience as bus drivers prioritize safety. If your student is a bus rider or walker, please make sure to check their route and talk with them about safe places to stand and walk. If you are driving your student to school please allow extra time for transportation.
A two-hour delayed start means the following:
7:30 a.m. schools start at 9:30 a.m.
8:40 a.m. schools start at 10:40 a.m.
9:40 a.m. schools start at 11:40 a.m.
All dismissal times remain normal.

❄️ THANK YOU | Thank you to our JCPS employees working around the clock this week to prepare our buildings for the return of students and staff. We appreciate you!

❄️⛄️ SNOW DAY | The snow day adventures continue for our students and staff today. We love to see how our community is making #WinterFun memories! #SnowDayMagic #WeAreJCPS

SNOW DAY| Due to icy side roads and extreme cold temperatures, all JCPS schools are closed on Thursday, January 9, 2025. This is a traditional snow day with no online learning. All athletic events and extracurricular activities are canceled.
The safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff is our top priority. We will take several factors into consideration tomorrow to make a decision for Friday. We will evaluate road and sidewalk conditions, campus conditions, temperatures, and the potential of additional snow in the area. A decision will be made by Thursday evening on whether school will be in session on Friday.
Please stay safe and warm, and we look forward to welcoming students and staff back as soon as conditions improve.

❄️ SNOW MUCH FUN ❄️ | We've missed seeing our students and staff in person this week but love to see how everyone is making the most of this winter wonderland! Thanks to those who shared snow day photos with us on social media!

SNOW DAYS | Enjoy more snow days, JCPS! Due to the inclement weather, and in order to give families and staff enough time to make any necessary plans, we’re announcing today that all JCPS schools will be closed Tuesday (1/7/25) and Wednesday (1/8/25).
Tuesday and Wednesday will be traditional snow days with no online learning and no athletic or extracurricular events.
JCPS will notify families and staff about plans for the remainder of the week as soon as those decisions are made.
If your student takes part in the YMCA CEP program, the YMCA has announced four emergency snow sites will be open on Tuesday and Wednesday. Those sites are: Coleridge-Taylor, Fairdale Elementary, Hawthorne, and Dunn. Any changes to the CEP program will be communicated to families via YMCA CEP, not JCPS.

SNOW DAY| Due to inclement weather, all JCPS schools are closed Monday, January 6, 2025. This is a traditional snow day for students and staff with no online instruction. All after school athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled for Monday. If there are any changes to the YMCA Child Enrichment Program (CEP), families will be notified by CEP.
