YSC Update! Passport stopped by this past week to donate hygiene items to our Youth Services Center. We greatly appreciate it!
Today, Ms. Higdon’s English 1 class visited the library for the first time this year! Our librarian, Ms. Haney led them through Library Orientation and Book Speed Dating. Students had 3 minutes at each table to look through books related to their unit on survival and rate the books they observed. By the end of class, each student checked out at least one book! We’re so glad to see our Dragons getting comfortable with the library and enjoying the books!
Family-Teacher Conferences are just two weeks away! Student success is built on strong family-school relationships. We hope to see you on Wednesday, September 23. Walk in conferences are open 9am-12pm and 12:30-3:30pm.
Many cultures. One school. Doss High School!
Our Hispanic Students United proudly participated in the Parade of Cultures today to formally kick off Worldfest! Students carried flags representing the many cultures and countries that make up our diverse student body, proudly celebrating the richness of our community.
We are so proud of our students for representing Doss with such joy, pride, and unity! We want to recognize HSU sponsors, Ms. Beitia and Ms. Francis, whose dedication to our students goes far beyond the classroom. Thank you for always going the extra mile by encouraging our students, believing in them, celebrating their cultures, and creating opportunities for them to feel proud of who they are.
☀️ ENJOY THE LONG WEEKEND | JCPS will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Check out our principal! Today, Dr. Ellison traded his office for the cafeteria and helped serve lunch alongside our team. We appreciate him stepping in and lending a hand whenever needed!
