The month of December brings a new Energy Bus at School theme, we are moving into with "Fuel Your Ride with Positive Energy". This month will be all about using proactive strategies to maintain or improve a positive mindset and surrounding ourselves with people who bring positivity to our lives. Some scientifically proven strategies for improving mental and physical health, especially in children and adolescents are limiting screen time, NO SOCIAL MEDIA, getting outside for natural sunlight and fresh air, getting the recommended sleep and limiting sugar and processed foods. Your mind can't be healthy if your body doesn't feel healthy. Mental health and physical health are symbiotic. Please partner with us in reinforcing this at home :)

The September Energy Bus theme is "You are the driver of your bus". We are teaching students that they are responsible for their decisions and their mindset and how their reaction to others can determine how their day unfolds. Advocating for themselves is a positive action while allowing anger to take over is a negative reaction. We are teaching students to try to solve their own problems with advocacy statements and when that isn't successful they ask a grown-up for help. Please partner with us in reinforcing this at home :)

Welcome back, Hite families! We’ve all had a great summer break but we’re excited to see our students back in our classrooms. Our staff, along with others in JCPS, have been busy at Hite preparing for the upcoming school year.
We’ve also launched our new school web page! Here, you'll find helpful information, such as lunch menus, a calendar of events, and links to important web pages for parents/guardians, including your Parent Place portal.
We will update this page regularly to keep you informed, so check back often.
JCPS also has a webpage dedicated to making the first day of school successful for you and your child. Visit the First Day webpage at https://www.jefferson.kyschools.us/o/jcps/page/first-day for information about transportation, school start times, and upcoming deadlines.
Thank you for entrusting your child and their education to us at (name of school). We’re looking forward to a great school year!
