At Greathouse, we are committed to fostering character, leadership, and academic excellence. A crucial habit that supports all three of these values is consistent, on-time attendance.
Jefferson County Public Schools continues to emphasize the importance of reducing chronic absenteeism across the district. Students who miss 10% or more of the school year are classified as chronically absent, and even small improvements in attendance can lead to significant gains in academic success.
While we understand that unexpected situations may arise, persistent tardiness and absences negatively impact not only individual students but also classroom instruction.
To address this in a positive and motivating manner, we are excited to launch:
March to Success: Be Here. Be On Time. Be Ready.
Student Recognition Levels
- 🥇 Gold Level — Perfect Attendance & 0 Tardies
- 🥈 Green Level — No more than 1 Absence OR 1 Tardy
- 🔵 Blue Level — Improved attendance compared to February

⏰ Important Morning Reminder
Instruction begins promptly at 8:40 a.m. Doors open at 8:10 a.m. Students move to class at 8:30 a.m. Morning announcements start at 8:34 a.m. Our school-wide moment of silence is at 8:39 am. Students should be in their seats and ready by 8:40 a.m. If your vehicle enters the campus at 8:40 a.m., your child may not be marked tardy, but they will not be set up for a calm and confident start to their day.
At a full-car rider school, morning punctuality relies on family planning. We kindly ask for your partnership in prioritizing early arrival throughout March.
Leadership begins with responsibility. Character is built through consistency. Academic success requires daily commitment.
Let’s make March our strongest attendance month yet! Thank you for your support!
