A personal interview with the Design and Production faculty is conducted to determine the applicant’s qualifications, interest, and motivation. Articulation, desire to succeed, and a willingness to devote additional time after-school are variables affecting acceptance criteria. Each applicant’s parents should accompany him or her to the interview so that the programmatic requirements and expectations can be fully explained. Previous experience on the part of the applicant is not a requirement for admission. Applicants who have examples of artwork, résumés, or photographs of projects are welcome to present them at the interview. Applicants are encouraged to shadow in the Design and Production classes (when possible)and the after-school lab sessions.
