Spring Meadows
Specialized Treatment Program

School Profile

Spring Meadows Treatment Program is operated by the Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children. It is designed to serve youth who have a history of psychiatric as well as behavioral problems.

  • Population Served: Boys, ages 10 to18 (Grades 3-12)
  • Specific Characteristics: Residential students who have been in psychiatric care in the past and are still in need of additional treatment. These residents exhibit many psychiatric and behavioral problems.
  • Maximum Enrollment: 24
  • Average Length of Stay: Nine months
  • School Schedule: 7:40 a.m. – 2:40 p.m. Spring Meadows follows the regular Jefferson County School calendar and includes a summer program.

School Programs

Residents at Spring Meadows participate in an individualized academic curriculum developed to address educational and behavioral needs. With a staff of fully certified teachers, Spring Meadows’ educational focus is supported by a variety of curriculum strategies including the following:

  • Jefferson County core curriculum.
  • Technology-based instruction.
  • Vocational education.
  • Incorporation of treatment with education.

Referral Process

All youth admitted into the program must be referred through Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children. Most residents are committed to the Cabinet for Families and Children. Private referrals are also accepted.
