School Profile
Louisville Day Treatment is a specialized treatment and educational program with the primary goals being the prevention of further delinquent behavior, the prevention of institutionalization, the improvement of individual and family functioning, and a successful instructional transition to the community school. Youths benefit from an academic curriculum that complies with current high school graduation requirements. Students receive instruction accommodating individual learning styles and remediation of skills.
- Population Served: Males ages 14 to 18 (Grades 9-12)
- Specific Characteristics: Students placed through a referral process of the Department of Juvenile Justice
- Maximum Enrollment: 40
- Average Length of Stay: 6 Months
- The Louisville DTP follows the JCPS school calendar and includes a summer program.
- GED Program available.

The Center strives to provide each child with the following:
- Improved self concept through success in academic, social and personal areas.
- Improved academic functioning through individually prescribed problems of instruction.
- A reduced pupil-teacher ratio to foster personalized attention.
- A value-based behavior phase system stressing citizenship and school attendance.
- Development of social skills through counseling and monitored group experience.
Referral Process
Highest priority is assigned to youth who have demonstrated delinquent behavior in the community
