Butler Traditional High School
School Profile
Butler Traditional High School offers a structured learning environment with college-preparatory classes that emphasize the values of morality, patriotism, and self-discipline in order to enhance each students ability to develop a positive self-concept and become self-directed. In the Traditional Program, all students are expected to wear uniforms, complete required homework assignments and follow Butlers clearly established discipline code. Parents are actively involved in education at Butler and the schools success. Rather than the Advance Program or Honors Program, Butler offers the Excel Program, accelerated courses for qualified students, in four areas: English, mathematics, science, and social studies. By taking the more challenging Excel courses, students can earn a special seal on their diplomas. Through the schools college-preparatory/dual-credit curriculum and Advanced Placement courses, students can also earn college credit in English, algebra, calculus, chemistry, U.S. history, humanities, and trigonometry.
