duPont Manual High School offers four-year programs in five different Magnet areas: Communications/Media Arts; Mathematics, Science and Technology; Visual Arts; High School University; and the Youth Performing Arts School. Advanced Placement classes are available in all subject areas. College Board Advanced Placement courses also are offered. Students may participate in an array of extracurricular activities and athletics. Designed for talented and ambitious students with special interests, duPont Manual has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Kentucky Department of Education as a School of Excellence. Manual also has been repeatedly recognized by Redbook magazine as one of America's Best Schools, based on its innovative and successful programs as well as its impressive commitment to excellence. Manual has an experienced faculty including seven Ph.D.s and many WHAS/PNC Bank ExCEL Award winners. During the past few years, duPont Manual has had more national-merit semifinalists and finalists than any other school (public or private) in Kentucky. Manual students average a 98 percent college-enrollment rate and have annually earned more than $15 million in renewable scholarships. Parents are actively involved in School-Based Decision Making and the PTSA at duPont Manual High School. In recent years, Manual graduates have been accepted into various universities, colleges, art institutions, conservatories, and technical institutes.
