The Mock Trial Team is a competitive group of students that engage in real life court room battles.  Every year high school students from across the state compete in the annual Mock Trial Tournament held by the Department of Juvenile Justice, a division of the Kentucky Department of Justice.  Students take on the roles of attorneys and witnesses as they develop a case.  The teams will take their case to trial at the regional tournament in February with hopes of advancing to the State and National Tournaments.  Students who participate in mock trial develop pubic speaking skills, build self-esteem, learn to think analytically, meet key figures of our local and state legal field and most of all, have fun.  Eastern has been very competitive in previous years.

2005 Regional Finalist
Last year was the first time Eastern completed in the state Mock Trial Tournament. Last year was also the first time Mr. Brown coached a Mock Trial Team. Although we faced an up hill battle Eastern managed to finish 3rd in the Regional Tournament out of 10 total teams that competed. Mr. Brown is currently putting together a new team and hopes to win the Regional tournament and travel to Frankfort to compete for the state title.
