Principal's Message

Atherton Family:

Atherton faculty and staff have responded to the desires and aspirations of our community to make Atherton a favored school among students and families seeking the highest quality education. The academic needs, social influences, and cultural values of our diverse school community are reflected in the programs and class offerings that engage the interests and talents of our young adults.

Atherton offers a comprehensive educational program that provides a wide range of growth experiences based on students' needs, desires, and passions. Our freshmen communities help make the learning experiences of our newest students most successful. We continue to offer the International Baccalaureate program, five world languages (Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish), a four-year Education Academy program for aspiring educators, and a variety of arts programs. Understanding student aspirations within our International Baccalaureate program, College Board Advanced Placement program, Education Academy, band, choir, orchestra, visual arts and performing arts is just as important as continuing the focus on investigative and cooperative learning that is occurring in classrooms throughout our school.

A vision of continual progress and growth spans into the way we think about teaching and learning, the way every one of us unites in collaborative supports for our children, and the educational partnerships we develop with our greater school community. Our students will continue to feel safe, connected, and cared for in our building where everyone relates to one another with integrity, fairness, and an appreciation for individual differences and values. Our parents, businesses, and neighborhoods will further look to our school as a source of respectful, socially-conscious, and community-engaged young adults. Atherton High School will continue to shine as a beacon of exceptional achievement with a culture of pride, scholarship, service, and self-respect.
