School Profile

Dixie Elementary hosts a program that emphasizes the development of the whole child through physical fitness, healthy living, and improved sports skills. This Health Promotion School of Excellence, with its full-time physical education teacher, assists children in learning the importance of good health at an early age. Students share the school’s campus with Valley High School Magnet Career Academy. Dixie integrates the arts throughout its high quality instruction with a full-time humanities teacher, who also directs an Orff musical ensemble. Dixie Elementary has a uniform dress code and offers Early Childhood Jump Start programs for four-year-olds, a Family Resource Center, a School-Based Decision Making Council, before-and after-school child-care services, and Extended School Services.
