School Profile

Shacklette is a "Community of Champions" that provides the necessary skills that contribute to the educational, emotional, physical and aesthetic development of students. Shacklette provides a secure environment that is sensitive to all cultural backgrounds. The school implements the Five Block reading program and Trailblazers math program in addition to science, social studies, arts and humanities, physical education, and computer classes. The school has a 32-station computer lab, plus additional computers and printers in each classroom. The Library Media Center has a student produced morning newscast and special events to promote literacy. In addition to a rigorous academic program, Shacklette offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities that include sports, arts programs, and academic clubs. Shacklette offers before- and after-school child-care services, Extended School Services, and a School-Based Decision Making Council to give parents a say in their child's education.
