Schaffner Traditional Elementary School
School Profile
Schaffner Traditional provides a more structured learning environment with a discipline code, a dress code, homework requirements, and meaningful parent involvement. There is an Open Door Policy for parents to visit as their schedules permit. As indicated by the school’s high attendance rate, students love to come to school at Schaffner. The school offers a science lab with a full time science teacher. There are computers in each classroom, a computer lab for directed learning and a mobile lab for specialized projects. Schaffner has a flexible library schedule which permits the students to visit the library as their programs dictate. Schaffner has band for 5th graders, a full time art teacher and a full time music teacher. Schaffner was named a Kentucky Pace Setter School for scoring in the top five percent of all Kentucky’s public schools on the state assessment and having a low rate of novice learners. The school has won district awards for cleanliness and safety.
