Principal Georgia Hampton

photoWife. Mother. Educator. Concert Violinist. Pianist. U.S. Air Force Veteran (Instructor for Chemical Biological Warfare and Survival Training). Passion for Pink. Fair to Staff. Love of Children. Together, these words describe our Principal, Mrs. Georgia L. Hampton. She returned home to Louisville in 2004 from Moreno Valley, California, where she served as a Principal. Her B.A. degree was earned from the University of California, Riverside, in Liberal Studies with a major concentration in Music and minor in Chemistry. Her Masters Degree was earned at California State University, San Bernardino.

One of the most exciting things she has brought to our school is the Language of the Month Program. Each month, we learn the same five simple phrases (hello, how are you; please; thank you; goodbye; excuse me) in a different language. For example, one month we may have Korean as the Language of the Month and "hello, how are you?" (An Yong Ha Sae Yo) as the phrase for the week. This way, we learn at least nine different languages for the school year.

At the end of the her first year as our Principal, we chose our new mascot (we had been called the Indian Trail Indians, but for obvious reasons, we had to drop that name years ago). We are proud of our school, because we're not just any school: We're Indian Trail Elementary School, Home of the Cardinals, where ALL students count and ALL students learn!
