Fairdale Elementary
School Profile

Fairdale Elementary School offers students a unique educational experience through the International Cultural Studies and Language magnet program. Students learn skills that will be beneficial in a 21st century global environment. Students study the culture, language, government, economy, and history of various countries, communicate with other schools, hold panel debates, and brainstorm solutions to international issues. Students learn how to use the latest technology in researching other cultures, and work with the Sister Cities of Louisville. The Fairdale Student Council is structured like the United Nations, with an international court composed of faculty members, a Security Council composed of students who are chosen in a school wide election, and a General Assembly composed of classroom representatives. The Fairdale Student Council helps guide local, national and international service projects.
