School Profile

Blue Lick Elementary, a Health Promotions School of Excellence, sets high expectations for every student. We are proud to offer students the best possible education by following local and national standards in all curriculum areas.

Students are offered opportunities for hands-on learning experiences in the classroom, arts and humanities, physical education, computer lab, music and the media center. Blue Lick offers integrated technology instruction, including Internet access in every classroom. This allows the most up-to-date information in every content area to be at the finger tips of our students.

Literacy and Mathematics instruction at Blue Lick are of primary importance and take place every day in every class. Student work is studied throughout the year to ensure progress and success for every single student.

Our Extended school Services program is available for students needing additional academic assistance and instruction in reading, writing and math. This service is offered by our certified teachers and qualified teaching assistants in a small group instructional setting.

Parents are encouraged to get involved in their child's education through the PTA Volunteer Program, Family Resource Center activities, serving on instructional committees, and our Site-Based Decision Making Council.

Blue Lick Elementary participates in a transition program with T. T. Knight Middle School and Thomas Jefferson Middle School to inform parents of their opportunities and help intermediate students prepare for transition to Grade Six.
