Jefferson County Public Schools has more than 250 professional certified school counselors serving in our K-12 schools.

Our Vision

Jefferson County Public Schools counselors, in partnership with students, families, staff, community, and business, will prepare students to be successful lifelong learners. The K-12 comprehensive guidance program will provide teaching and modeling strategies that create and nurture a safe and positive teaching environment. All students will participate in a comprehensive developmental guidance program that provides the skills necessary for academic success, career planning, and personal and social growth.Our Districtwide Counseling Program is designed to meet the standards of the K-12 curriculum based on the National Model developed by the American School Counselor Association.
