January 2007

• Thirty pilot schools begin using SuccessMaker® adaptive mathematics software with Novice math students.
• Science teachers in grades 5-8 attend Science module Gold Day PD

February 2007

• Teachers and administrators review second draft of Unit One mathematics materials.
• Science teachers in grades K-8 attend Science module Gold Day PD

March 2007

• GE/JCPS/JCTA team researches best practice for mathematics professional development in premier districts across the country.
• Draft "Vision for Mathematics Teaching" developed
• GE/JCPS/JCTA team meets with national mathematics education expert to determine best course of action and researches the possibility of using existing materials for the initiative.
• Additional schools invited to participate in Phase 2 of SuccessMaker® interventions software implementation.

April 2007

• Middle school teachers participate in a review of sixth and seventh grade materials for use in the 2007-08 school year
• Connected Mathematics 2 is chosen for inclusion in the sixth and seventh grade Mathematics System for the 2007-08 school year.
• All middle schools are invited to participate in the Mathematics System for the 2007-08 school year.

May 2007

• Planning meetings for schools voting to participate in Phase 2 of SuccessMaker® Implementation.

June 2007

• Summer PD offered in Science Module Critter care, Mathematics for Science Modules
• PD offered to middle school teachers to support the new Mathematics System.

July 2007

• SuccessMaker® training offered for new building leads, teachers.

August 2007

• SuccessMaker® training offered for new building leads, teachers.
• Additional schools begin use of SuccessMaker® software to service Novice students
• PD offered to middle school teachers to support the new Mathematics System.
