Two Centuries of Black Louisville
The Department of Diversity, Equity and Poverty Programs in Collaboration with the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage, and the Saturday Academy, invite you to attend three (3) PD sessions for JCPS certified and classified staff. These sessions will feature Mervin Aubespin, Kenneth Clay, and J. Blaine Hudson, the authors of Two Centuries of Black Louisville: A Photographic History. The sessions will be held on October 4, October 18, and November 8, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage 1701 West Muhammad Ali (18th & Muhammad Ali).
The purpose of these sessions are to introduce JCPS certified and classified staff to this valuable resource and to discuss ideas about how Two Centuries of Black Louisville, can be used in classrooms throughout JCPS. Thanks to the generosity of Insight Communications, who has provided funding to put a copy of Two Centuries of Black Louisville in every school library in JCPS, as well as every public library in Jefferson County.
