I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Teaching with emphasis in Business and Math from the University of Louisville. During the first eight years of my teaching career, I worked as a business teacher at Kentucky Tech—Jefferson State, now known as JCTCS. After our two sons were born, I applied to Jefferson County Public Schools and began working at Southern High School in 1995 teaching business and math. During the next 15 years at Southern, I taught business technology, served as co-op coordinator, served as the School-to-Career Liaison, and did interventions in math after school. Professionally, I have earned certifications as a Microsoft Office Specialist in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as in IC3. In 2010, I joined Jefferson County High School as a Math Resource teacher at Ahrens. After one very short year, I became part of the eSchool staff. Being part of online education is amazing. My favorite part of teaching online courses is having students earn college credit by taking College Now courses. Students taking business courses have the opportunity to not only learn skills necessary for daily living but also essential for success in the 21st century.
