New Officer Information

After your officers are elected for the new school year, send in the names and contact information to the 15th District PTA Office and Kentucky PTA Office, so that the new officers can begin receiving important information. Click here for an Officer form.

Training Opportunities

The 15th District PTA offers board training for local unit PTA boards. We will come to your school and give your board an overview of your responsibilities for the year. We can give you materials and suggestions on how to do your jobs in the easiest most productive ways possible. It is so important for all of the board members to hear the same thing at the same time, so we urge you to contact us with three possible dates when the majority of your board can attend the training. Trainings generally take about two hours. We can also tailor the training to suit you if your school needs training in specific areas. Please contact Cherie Dimar at 244-5171 or Jdimar2@aol.com if you are interested in having a private board training at your school. We look forward to hearing from you.

District Office and CAP Building

The 15th District PTA Office, along with the Clothing Assistance Program (CAP), and Sharon Whitworth's office (the JCPS Parent Relations Specialist) are now at 319 South Fifteenth Street (40203), which is at 15th Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard next to the Central High School Magnet Career Academy Football Stadium. The PTA Office, Sharon and CAP will be sharing the back half of the building with School Wishes and the Louisville Fencing Club. Junior Achievement occupies the front half of the building. Volunteers are always needed at CAP.

Top Schools Have Something in Common—A PTA

Nearly half of the schools listed in Newsweek's 100 Best High Schools in America have PTAs or PTSAs! In addition, a PTA school—Talented and Gifted Magnet in Dallas, Texas—holds the Number 1 spot, and PTA schools make up about half of the top 20 schools. These great statistics show how parent involvement supports student achievement!

Every child can benefit from the presence of a PTA at their school—PTA is the best way to strengthen the school, and keep families and community leaders connected in support of education. If your school does not have a PTA, or you are not a member, what are you waiting for? Help your child succeed by becoming a part of PTA.
