Every 1 Reads

The Jefferson County Public Education Foundation is partnering with Greater Louisville Inc. and Louisville Metro Government for a community-wide initiative called Every 1 Reads. Every 1 Reads, championed by volunteer Chuck Denny, has engaged our entire community in this reading initiative.

Currently, approximately 9,000 children who are enrolled in Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) cannot read at grade level. The JCPS District has committed $2 million per year for the next four years to be earmarked for this reading initiative. The Jefferson County Public Education Foundation is the depository for matching financial contributions for Every 1 Reads.

We are seeking additional companies and individuals to support this worthwhile initiative both as volunteer tutors/mentors and as monetary contributors through gifts and grants. See the Recent Donors page for a current list of Every 1 Reads supporters.
