Quality Program

Children smiling at the cameraThe YMCA / JCPS Childcare Enrichment Program (C.E.P.) fills the empty hours before and after school for your child and is a partnership program offered by the YMCA of Greater Louisville and Jefferson County Public Schools. Our safe, well supervised program provides an exciting alternative for children who might otherwise spend hours at home alone. Busy parents can go to work knowing that their child is safe, secure and actively involved.

Children ages five to 14 (full-day kindergartners through eighth graders) can participate in a wide variety of exciting and enriching activities that include the following:

Trained Staff

Our professionally trained staff ensure quality care. Each year C.E.P. staff receive extensive hours of professional development training that exceeds staff licensing guidelines. In addition, all staff are certified in C.P.R. and first aid.

Parental Involvement

A few examples include our quality assessment committee, parent advisory committees, family nights and other special events. Parents are kept informed with monthly site newsletters. Parents are encouraged to participate and to become involved in any way that they feel comfortable. We welcome parental assistance and involvement!

Hours / Days of Operation

Program hours are from 7 a.m. to the start of your child’s school day and from the close of school to 6 p.m. During winter break, spring break, summer break, professional development days and snow days, care is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Spring, Summer, and Winter breaks require a separate registration form. Site location may vary due to consolidation. Transportation to and from the C.E.P. site is the responsibility of the parent. Transportation will be provided for elementary and middle school students between their schools and the C.E.P. sites during the school year for before and after school care.

All transportation to and from C.E.P. sites is dependent upon JCPS routing and is subject to change.

Registration

Call 485-3834 or the YMCA branch nearest you for a registration form. A non-refundable registration fee per child is required. Please refer to the chart below for registration fees.
