KAGE Parent Support Group

The Kentucky Association for Gifted Education (KAGE) is a non-profit volunteer group of parents, educators, and all citizens interested in being advocates for appropriate educational opportunities for gifted and talented children and youth in Kentucky. This group has developed local chapters across the Commonwealth that plan activities to address local needs. The Kentucky Association for Gifted Education has several goals in their advocacy for educational programming for gifted and talented students in the Commonwealth. These include:

  • encouraging the improvement of educational services to all students, including those who are gifted and talented
  • supporting appropriate educational opportunities for gifted and talented students
  • offering training for parents and teachers of gifted and talented students
  • disseminating information about opportunities for gifted and talented students as well as for parents and teachers of these students
  • informing the general public of the needs of this unique group of students
  • assisting parents, educators, and public officials in identifying and assessing resources to meet the needs of students who are gifted and talented
  • securing permanent state funding and legislation to provide appropriate education for the gifted and talented students in every school district in Kentucky
  • providing scholarship assistance to qualified students participating in summer gifted programs offered by Kentucky universities
