Management Information Services (MIS)What We DoMIS serves a variety of users throughout the District. Every two weeks, our Payroll/Personnel system prints over 15,000 payroll checks for our employees. Our Integrated Student system tracks the attendance information for over 94,000 students at 173 school locations, and our Finance/Facilities system inventories over 2 million items at 7 warehouse sites. Each year, MIS prints over a million mailing labels and, last year, our Response Center handled over 17,000 calls. Each day, our mainframe processes over 250,000 online transactions from 300 concurrent users. The volume of data we process requires a massive amount of systems integration and planning. Over the years, the District's users have become more and more sophisticated and their needs have greatly increased in complexity. The needs of our schools and facilities drive our ongoing system design and development. Our staff of 52 employees is trained in a variety of applications including mainframe, client/server, VB, data warehousing, email, networking, and web technologies. More Information: |
