eLearning Resources

The following web resources are provided by CES to support students and teachers.

CES supports distance learning program through the use of ANGEL, a Learning Management System. ANGEL is a web-based course management and collaboration portal that enables educators, administrators, and other personnel to manage materials. ANGEL can function both as a complement to traditional courses and as a site for elearning. There are two ANGEL LMS deployments in Jefferson County. They are JCPS Online and JCPS eSchool.

JCPS Student Web Site

Jefferson County's Student Web site is a tool that allows students to use selected websites to help with their homework and to succeed in school. The student web includes a searchable database of core content websites that have been reviewed, rated and approved by teachers. Students also have access to online resources like dictionaries, encyclopedias, conversion tools, and thesauruses. There is also a helpful section for finding information on Grants and Scholarships, ACT and SAT testing, as well as other opportunities to continue education after graduating from JCPS.

netTrekker is an Internet search engine created just for students, teachers, and librarians. netTrekker transform the wealth of valuable educational material on the Internet into an organized and easy-to-use resource for grades K-12. Resources are correlated to state standards along with providing a readability index in order to provide differentiated learning based on a student’s reading and grade level. It also provides resources for the English learner making this useful to our ESL students and teachers.  netTrekker provides safe, relevant, educator-selected information and support needed to help students learn. Jefferson County Public Schools has purchased the rights for all students and teachers to access netTrekker.

Instructional & Technical Resources

Our department has provided access to the support documents in our repository through a web portal using the ANGEL LMS to provide JCPS employees with a single source for locating technology focused resources. Visit the CES resource portal to find links to grade level specific instructional resources, those which can be used across the content and grade levels, as well as technical resources and professional development opportunities and resources.
