Project 1st CLASS is Jefferson County's one-to-one laptop initiative at Moore Traditional School, Shawnee Magnet Career Academy and Western Middle School.
Goal of the project
To significantly improve student achievement as measured by CATS by providing a wireless laptop computer to every student and instructor as a tool to restructure access to resources, re-engineer instruction, and re-culture learning.
Placing a laptop computer in the hands of every student:
- allows them to have more resources available at school and at home.
- improves writing, research, and analytical skills.
- provides opportunities to complete project-based and collaborative assignments.
- increases the amount of work time and helps the student to produce quality work.
