Computer Application Skills Continuum

The JCPS Computer Application Skills Continuum is:

designed to guide students in kindergarten through grade twelve in their acquisition of basic technology skills
based on the National Education Technology Standards
aligned with the Kentucky Program of Studies.

The JCPS Computer Application Skills Assessment is:

designed to measure student progress in reaching the goals outlined in the continuum
given at the 4th, 8th and 10th grade levels
reviewed through completion of online scrimmages
administered by personnel in each school who can attend ongoing professional development opportunities which focus on teaching level appropriate technology skills.

All Jefferson County public schools prepare students to graduate with basic technology skills. In order to guide and monitor their progress while acquiring those skills, the JCPS designed Computer Application Skills Continuum and Assessment are used throughout the district.
