Jefferson County Public School employees participate in either the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System (KTRS) or the County Employees Retirement System (CERS). The applicable mandatory plan is determined by the employee's job classification.
KTRS
Employees working in positions requiring a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or teacher certification regardless of hours or days worked and who have a Bachelor's degree or a certificate.)
CERS
Employees working in positions which do not require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or a certificate and who average 80 hours per month.
