Medical Spending Account

The Medical Spending Account allows you the opportunity to set aside up to $5,000 pre-tax to pay for out-of-pocket expenses that your health plan does not cover. There is no state contribution for the 2007 plan year.

Eligible expenses include:

  • Braces (if medically necessary)

  • Contact lenses (corrective)

  • Eyeglasses and eye exams

  • Chiropractic care

  • Fees to doctors, hospitals and medical facilities

  • Smoking cessation programs

You may also be reimbursed for certain over-the-counter (OTC) medicines through your Medical Expense FSA.

The plan is administered through the Kentucky health plan and information is available in the health insurance handbook
