Your Health Care Plan provides hospital, surgical, medical, and prescription drug coverage.

Plan choices: Employees may choose Essential, Enhanced, or Premier Coverage. (refer to the Commonwealth Health Insurance Handbook for specific plan details and offerings)

Eligibility: You are eligible the first day of the second month after your hire date, i.e., hired 11/13, eligible for coverage January 1st.

Cost: The Commonwealth of Kentucky pays a portion of  your monthly premium. You pay any balance through a pre-tax deduction from your check. An employee also has the option of waiving health insurance. If health insurance is waived the state will make a contribution (if eligible) of $175 per month of eligibility to a Health Reimbursement Account.
