Purpose and Function

The purpose of the Curriculum Resource Center (CRC) is to provide an interactive work place with a variety of resources and tools that help educators, parents, and the educational community meet the diverse needs of all students. Educators and those who work with youth come to the CRC on their own initiative to:

* Implement Kentucky Education Reform Act and the Core Content * Research best practices
* Reflect, brainstorm, and plan with colleagues * Explore multiple strategies
* Design instruction for diverse learners * Develop meaningful learning experiences
* Create tailor-made, instructional materials * Share innovations

Since 1986, the CRC continues to be a collaborative project between the Jefferson County Board of Education and the Creative Education Foundation with special funding from the Norton Foundation. Learners of all ages - from early childhood through adulthood - benefit from the time teachers spend exploring and refining instructional practices to meet the diverse needs of students.

In an informal setting, the Curriculum Resource Center (CRC) is a professional work place to:
* think and plan
* work together on projects
* find individualized assisantance and support
* enjoy the company of colleagues over coffee and good conversation
