JCPS bands selected for national music festival

The Louisville Male High School Band and Percussion Ensemble were selected to perform at the Music for All/Bands Of American National Concert Band Festival this month in Indianapolis.

Male was one of only 16 schools nationwide selected through an audition process to perform at Butler University during the festival, which also included clinics led by music educators and professional musicians.

“The bands chosen to perform were representative of all regions of the United States,” says Nan Moore, who has been Male High’s director of bands since 1978. “The adjudication panel was composed of some of the most esteemed conductors in the country. They were extremely complimentary in their critique of the Male Band and Percussion Ensemble.”
